Novel-writing

What Interests Me This Week

Half a year ago I talked about the idea of a novel project. I actually followed through. The momentum is small but there is movement.

The premise is a DAO created to carry out crowdsourced asssassinations.

I have a rough sketch of a world built enough to sustain at least a few story years.

I'm taking a gardening approach, a mix of flying by the pants and plot-engineering. If I'm successful, it's gonna work like agile software development with repeating cycles of composing and editing.

I do slightly worry real world events will supercede and water down the premise.

The toughest thing about solitary long term projects like this is Resistance. Therefore the interest and concern around this novel project isn't world building, characters, plots or speculations. It's the experiment in processes.

There's a high likelihood that this project won't see completion out of demotivated abandonment.

Therefore the immediate thing I'm looking into are methods of inciting mimetic envy.
